Barbara Elaine Liddell Oviatt, our precious and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 21, 1993 after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer.

She was born in Erda, Utah on June 24, 1917 to John Wilton and Memphis Myers Liddell. On June 14, 1941 she married Theron H. Oviatt in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived in Carbon County until 1960, Brigham City until 1986, and have resided in Sandy for the past seven years.Barbara's many talents included being an accomplished seamstress, excellent cook, a true and faithful friend. She was known for her compassion, never-ending service, integrity and her beautiful smile. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a very active member of the LDS Church serving in all the organizations: Young Women, Relief Society presidencies and Jr. Sunday School chorister for 20 years. Worked for JC Penney Co. in Price and Brigham City.

She is survived by her husband; three sons and two daughters, James L. Oviatt, St. George; Marie Popp and husband Brent, Alan L. Oviatt and wife Colleen, Martin L. Oviatt, all of Salt Lake; Melissa Wilson and husband Stephen, American Fork; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Hana Winn, Lelia Wallace of Price; Loraine Clair, Sandy; Betty Johnson, American Fork; and Helen Faddis, Bountiful; Barbara Kraus and son Phillip Kraus, Brigham City.

Preceded in death by parents, brother and great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 1993, 11 a.m. at Crescent 16th Ward, 251 East 10600 South, Sandy. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Tuesday, November 23 from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery at 4 p.m.
