The American Automobile Association says motorists will pay an average 4.1 cents less for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline this Thanksgiving holiday than they did a year ago.
AAA's Thanksgiving Fuel Gauge Report showed the nationwide price of self-serve regular unleaded averaging $1.116 compared to $1.157 last year at this time.Gasoline prices are down in all regions of the country this month, with the exception of the Mid-Atlantic states where the average price increased 0.2 cent per gallon to $1.112.
The biggest price drop was recorded in the Midwest, down 2.9 cents to $1.11, followed by the Southwest, down 2.8 cents to $1.094. Other decreases were in the West, down 2.3 cents to $1.234; Southeast and Great Lakes, each down 2.1 cents to $1.053 and $1.075, respectively; and New England, down 0.6 cent to $1.132.
