Weber County prosecutors were trying to decide Tuesday morning if charges against a 16-year-old male should be filed in juvenile or circuit court. The youth was arrested after police were shot at when he was caught apparently trying to break into a car.
The teenager was taken into custody on Monday after a .357 magnum was fired at police.According to reports, police responded to a call that someone was breaking into cars. When police got to the scene, shots were fired at them. The teenager then ran and tripped in a drainage ditch, where police caught up with him.
The teenager was booked into a youth detention center in Roy.
