Crowds wait in line in the Capitol Theatre lobby Monday morning as tickets go on sale for this summer's Salt Lake run of "Les Miserables," July 21-Aug. 7. The first 40 people in line received randomly drawn numbers for order forms at 6 a.m., two hours before the box office opened. ArtTix and the Theater League of Utah initiated the random-number system to thwart professional scalpers and avert the stampedes that occurred when tickets went on sale for the 1992 performances of the popular Broadway musical.
