Road signs on New Zealand's south island bear the surnames of U.S. President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. Inky Tulloch, mayor of the district of Gore, jokingly says that in his opinion Gore is somewhat more important than Clinton because of its larger population. The two districts are near the south end of the mountainous island, which has many glaciers, lakes and rivers.
