Much is being said and written about a new baseball stadium in Salt Lake City. There has never been much broad-based support for professional baseball in Salt Lake, but perhaps Triple A will help.
I have a suggestion to assist in the financing. Those that really want it should step forward and buy tickets in advance. I would suggest a book of 100 tickets for $500 or perhaps 125 for $1,000. They could be used anytime in the future.Perhaps other incentives could be given for prepurchase, like reserved seating or parking. Corporations could buy blocks for employees or customers, etc.
The savings in interest for the city would be substantial. More people would attend and the concessions, parking, etc., would benefit and it would be a real show of community support that could be broad-based.
With a vigorous marketing campaign, I believe several million dollars could be raised and the resulting saving in interest, tax dollars and evidence of community support would be a benefit to Salt Lake and its baseball stadium and team.
