Richard Nicholas Carlton, 47, died March 6, 1993 near Great Bend, Kansas, as the result of an auto accident.
Born November 28, 1945 in Salt Lake City, the son of Frank H. and Marion Dame Carlton. Resident of Larned nearly 12 years where he was a District Administrator in Special Education.Member of the LDS Church. Fulfilled a mission to Norway and served as a Branch President, a counselor to bishoprics, and as a High Councilman. Member of Phi Delta Kappa, Pork Producers, Golden Belt Chapter, and Kansas Association of Special Education Administrators.
Married Connie L. Smith on June 3, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survivors include his wife; children, Travis, Rexburg, Idaho; Michael, Great Bend, Kansas; Cathernine, Steven, Christopher, David, Alicia, Kjersti, and Brian, all of Larned, Kansas; his father; four sisters, Lynda (Tom) Weiner, Sharon Graser, Janet (Jim) Hickok, and Nancy (Dan) DeMarco; one brother, Lee (Barbara); his in-laws, David and Pearl Smith, all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral will be Thursday, March 11, 1993, at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
