Marilyn Laurie, senior vice president of public relations for AT&T, will address communication students at a symposium Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

The lecture is sponsored by the Brigham Young University department of communications as part of the Executive Symposium Series. It is free to the public.Laurie is responsible for AT&T's media relations, employee communications, marketing public relations, constituency relations, corporate advertising and brand management worldwide.

A nationally recognized environmentalist, she was one of the originators of Earth Day in 1970, wrote a New York Times supplement on environmental issues and was a co-founder of the Environmental Action Coalition.
