Youth City Council members from throughout Utah will be meeting at the Utah State University Thursday through Saturday for the 10th annual leadership institute. The theme of the 1993 institute is "Tomorrow's Leaders Leading Today."
The training sessions will give youth opportunities to practice leadership skills and develop confidence. Learning how to set goals, working with at-risk youth and the importance of voluntarism will also be emphasized.The number of youth city councils created in the state and the number attending the Logan event has increased dramatically over the past nine years. Therefore, another session will be at Southern Utah University Aug. 19-21.
The split was necessary in order to accommodate all the people who want to attend, according to Stan Guy, event director and community development agent with Extension Services.
