A small earthquake that struck rural northern Utah resulted in no reports of damage or injuries.

University of Utah seismologist Sue Nava said the temblor registered 3.3 on the Richter scale. It was recorded at 1:33 p.m. Monday and was not felt by residents.The epicenter of the quake was south-southwest of Howell, about 60 miles north of Brigham City near the Idaho border.

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake can cause slight damage.
