Former Vice President Dan Quayle has been offered a seat on the board of directors of Central Newspapers Inc.

The corporation publishes newspapers in Indianapolis and three other Indiana cities and in Phoenix. Central Newspapers was founded by Quayle's grandfather, the late Eugene C. Pulliam. Quayle's father, James C. Quayle, is a director.Quayle said he was enthused about the offer.

The Quayles intend to return to Indianapolis once the school year ends.
