The Milwaukee Admirals tied the game late in the third period, but the Salt Lake Golden Eagles went on to score in the shootout to give them a 3-2 win Wednesday. The win was the second in a row on the road for the Salt Lake team.
Eagles' goalie Jason Muzzatti stopped all five of the Milwaukee shooters in the shootout. Admirals' Larry Dyck got by four, but David Struch beat him with a low backhand shot to give the Eagles the win.Salt Lake started scoring late in the first period when Patrick Lebeau scored on a power play with only 48 second left on the clock. Todd Harkins followed in the second period when he broke away and hit a high wrist shot.
The Admirals scored late in the second, then Lou Crawford hit a 25-foot wrist shot passed a screened Muzzatti to tie the game.
Neither team was able to score in overtime. The Admirals took four shots to one for the Eagles. Muzzatti made 37 saves in the game, along with the five in the shootout. The Eagles hold a 7-2 record in shootouts.
The Eagles, 32-32 return to Cleveland to play the Lumberjacks, a team they beat 7-4 on Tuesday. They will play Kalamazoo on Saturday, then finish the road trip with a game Sunday in Fort Wayne.
