Mountain View High School was briefly evacuated after complaints of a noxious odor.

The fumes were smelled first in three second-story classrooms. Orem Police Detective Gerald Nielsen said the ventilation system was turned off and firefighters were called."They evacuated the school while the odor dissipated and custodians changed air filters," Nielsen said.

The 2,200 students were allowed back in the school after about 15 minutes Wednesday afternoon when the odor no longer was detected. Six students who complained of sore throats, nausea and burning eyes went home with their parents.
