Drucilla Gillins Turner, 95, a longtime resident of Logan, died March 8, 1993, at the Sandy Regional Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 10, 1898 in Minersville, Beaver County, Utah, the second of eight children of Frederick William and Sarah Ellen Eyre Gillins. She married Arthur Mason Turner, May 2, 1917 in the St. George LDS Temple. They lived in Milford, Modena, Salt Lake City and Oasis, before moving in 1933 to Logan.An active participant in the LDS Church throughout her life, she served in all of the auxiliary organizations, ward choir, ward library, and 11 years in the Cache Family History Center. She worked in the family business, the Credit Bureau of Logan until 1950. Thereafter, she was either self-employed or at Everton Mattress and Furniture Company, until her retirement in 1972.
She has enjoyed community service, travel, sewing, crafts, gardening, oil painting, genealogical research and temple attendance.
She is survived by immediate family members, Verna Olsen Turner, Young Ward, Byron L. Turner, Salt Lake City; Lowell G. and Constance Kloepfer Turner, Sandy; R. Eyre and Valene Crowther Turner, Logan; S. Lyle and Maurine Turner Burt, Logan; Newell R. and Janice Nelson Turner, Bountiful. She is also survived by three sisters, 27 grandchildren and 74 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, December 2, 1948, eldest son, Marden Arthur Turner, daughter-in-law, Beverly Judd Turner, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13th in the Logan First Ward Chapel, 89 South 200 West, Bishop Bryce Ericksen, conducting. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Logan First Ward Chapel, prior to the funeral. Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lgoan City Cemetery.
