Auditions have been scheduled for the following stage productions:
- THE MIRACLE WORKER, for adult roles on Saturday, March 20, and a separate audition session for children on Saturday, March 27, both from 9 a.m. until noon by appointment only at the Hale Center Theater, 2801 S. Main, South Salt Lake.Roles for four women and four men: Anne Sullivan, age 20; Kate Keller, in her 30s; Viney, in her 30s (preferably an African-American actress); Aunt Eu Keller, 40-60; Captain Keller, in his 40s; James Keller, nearing 20; Mr. Anagnos, 40-50 years old, and the doctor, who is elderly.
Children needed: Helen, 6-8 years old; Martha, about 10 (preferably African-American), and Percy, about 8, also preferably African-American.
All auditions will be scheduled in 5-minute increments. Call the Hale Center Theater at 484-9257 to schedule an audition time. Sides from the script are also available at the theater.
The Tony Award-winning drama, which ran for 719 performances on Broadway during the 1959-60 season, will be directed by Mary Parker Williams, assisted by John Williams. All actors will receive compensation.
Playdates are June 10-Aug. 2.
- THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, George Axelrod's hit Broadway comedy, 9 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Bountiful Elks Lodge No. 2442 (544 W. 400 North, West Bountiful).
All roles in the StageRight TheaterCompany production are open. All auditioners are requested to attend a workshop audition at 9 a.m., to be followed by cold readings from the script. Sides are available by calling 966-3834.
Director Sheryl L. Wardell emphasizes that the role of the "Girl" will not be played like Marilyn Monroe (in the 1955 film version).
