The new Children's Keep Theatre, 105 E. 100 North, Provo (the former Christian Science Church building), has scheduled two free performances of "The Misadventures of Godfry Smithers" and a program of improvisational fairy tales to introduce its new "Saturday Afternoon Funnies" series of shows for children.
The performances are March 13 and 20 at 1 p.m.Jerry Bacik of Bacik Entertainment says the shows, which last approximately one hour, are suitable for everyone over 3 years of age.
For the improvisational fairy tales, audience members will be asked to name their favorite stories, then the cast will attempt to merge two tales together - such as having the three little pigs climb up Rapunzel's hair or having Pinocchio fall in love with the Little Mermaid.
"The Misadventures of Godfry Smithers" is a short, action-filled piece about an accident-prone adventurer's heroics in the Amazon jungle.
The next production at Children's Keep Theatre will be "The Adventures of Posy in Dance of the Ogre," opening March 27.
