Elizabeth Taylor receives the 21st Life Achievement Award of the American Film Institute from producer/writer George Stevens Jr. "It's been so long since I thought about myself as an actress," she told the star-filled Beverly Hilton Ballroom audience in Beverly Hills Thursday night. Intensely active for the cause of AIDS, Taylor has not appeared in a feature film in 13 years.
