Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama plan to join hundreds of other religious leaders this summer at the Parliament of the World's Religions.
The weeklong conference aims to affirm the common elements of different faiths in order to reduce intolerance.About 5,000 people are expected to attend this year's gathering, which begins Aug. 28, in Chicago, the Rev. David Ramage, chairman of the event, said Thursday.
The Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, was expected to give the closing address, Ramage said.
