I am just bursting with pride after seeing the new Riverton Library. I know that as a librarian in the county library system, I am undoubtedly prejudiced, but as a taxpayer and a book lover, I can't help but feel that this is a truly justified expenditure of tax monies.
I suggest your readers take a bit of time and go look at what the county library system has been doing with its tax dollars: the new Sandy Library with its beautiful, high ceilings, lovely view and open friendly feeling; Smith Library with its airy open-space feeling; and now Riverton, brightly lighted, with its friendly staff and beautiful woodwork (made in the county library facilities shops by the talented facilities staff, again saving tax dollars and yet making some of the best-looking counters, cabinets and wooden stack ends you will ever see). What next? A new library is planned for the growing Hunter area, smaller than Sandy, but to be built so it can be expanded.
