The First Presidency has announced the call of eight more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will be assigned to a specific mission later and will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:

William C. Bollard, 38, Irvine 1st Ward, Irvine California Stake; mission president's counselor, former stake president's counselor, bishop's counselor, branch president, and Young Men president; served in Argentina Rosario Mission, 1974-76; attorney; earned bachelor's degree from BYU and juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law; born in Van Nuys, Calif., a son of Charles S. and Marilyn J. Martyn Bollard; married Christy L. Wells, four children. She is a Young Women president, former Relief Society and Primary teacher, Young Women adviser, and den leader; attended BYU; born in Los Angeles, Calif., a daughter of Charles W. and Tressie L. Marx Wells.Stephen G. Boyden, 52, Yale 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Bonneville Stake; stake president's counselor, former stake mission president's counselor, bishop's counselor, high priests group leader, ward Young Men president, Sunday School teacher, teachers quorum adviser, and Scoutmaster; assistant Utah attorney general, earned bachelor's degree and juris doctorate from the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of John Sterling and Orpha Sweeten Boyden; married Patricia Shumway, six children. She is a stake Young Women president, former stake Relief Society president's counselor, LDSSA adviser, Young Women and Primary president, Relief Society teacher, ward organist, and Blazer Scout leader; earned bachelor's degree from the University of Utah; born in Tremonton, Utah, a daughter of Jack and Mildred Lund Shumway.

Ralph G. Degn, 52, River Heights 3rd Ward, Providence Utah Stake; bishop, former bishop and counselor, stake and ward organist, Sunday School teacher, and Varsity Scout coach; served in Brazil Mission, 1960-63; retired founder and chief executive officer of display fireworks manufacturing company; earned bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and master's degree from Georgetown University; born in Logan, Utah, a son of Wilford Bennie and Iris Swapp Degn; married Mary Ann Daynes, eight children. She is a former stake camp and sports director, Relief Society president's counselor and teacher, Young Women president's counselor, Sunday School and Primary teacher, and cultural arts specialist; attended the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Wilford W. and Antoinette Ivins Wilson Daynes.

Gilberto Laparra, 47, Jardines Ward, Guatemala City Guatemala Central Stake; mission president's counselor, former mission president's executive secretary, stake president, stake Young Men president, branch president's counselor, and high priests group leader; real estate manager for the Church; attended Education Musical Magisterio; born in Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, a son of Buenaventura Antonio and Amparo Clementina Martinez Pinajel Laparra; married Amanda de Jesus Veliz Jimenez, four children. She is a stake Relief Society president's counselor, former stake Young Women president, temple worker, and ward Young Women president; commercial secretary; attended Superior School of Commerce; born in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala, a daughter of Francisco and Teresa Guillermina Jimenez Veliz.

Pope, 55, Edgemont 21st Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; Missionary Training Center branch president, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, ward executive secretary, elders quorum president and counselor, and teacher development director; served in Northern Far East Mission, 1957-60; BYU professor of theater; earned bachelor's and master's degrees from BYU, and doctorate from Wayne State University; born in Vernal, Utah, a son of Lloyd Theodore and Oris Powell Pope; married Connie Lundell, seven children. Carlos C. Revillo, 53, General Santos 2nd Branch, General Santos Philippines District; mission president's counselor, former district president and counselor, district mission president, district high councilor, and branch president; unit manager for life insurance company; earned associate degree from Central Mindanao Colleges; born in General Santos, Philippines, a son of Panfilo N. and Luciana C. J.
