The New Mexico desert is calling Shirley MacLaine.
The entertainer is selling her homes in California and Washington state and moving to a house on a 7,500-acre ranch in Abiquiu, a 45-minute drive from Santa Fe. "I feel the high desert calling me," she said.MacLaine, 58, an Academy Award-winning actress who has written several books on spirituality, said, "I'm going to write a new book when I settle into my new place."
MacLaine said she would keep a home in Los Angeles, but wanted a smaller one than her Malibu apartment, which is listed for $4 million. Her other home in the Seattle area has gone on sale for $1.2 million.
