Our beloved mother, Maria M. Vardakis, 67, passed away in her home March 14, 1993.
Born on November 31, 1925 in Crete, Greece. Married Mike Nicoles Vardakis, September of 1963 in Nassau, Bahamas. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Georgia, and brother, Vasillios. She was a wonderful sister in helping raise her nine younger brothers and sisters. After her husband passed away, she raised three children on her own. During these tough times she always had a sense of humor, and great strength.Marie was a kind and giving person whom everyone cared about and loved. Her love in life, her children, cooking, gardening, and being a member of the Pancretan Minos Society.

Survived by sons, Angelo and Mike; daughters, Helen and Lisa, all of Salt Lake City; four brothers, Nick, Apostollos, John, and Stavros; three sisters, Magdalene, Anna, Irene, all of Greece; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 1993, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 So. 300 West. Deseret Mortuary, 36th East 700 So., where friends may call on Tuesday, March 16th, from 6-8 p.m.
