Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Thayne Ramon Harris, 63, passed away March 20, 1993 at home of a heart attack.

Born March 24, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Clarabelle Russell and Everett Clyde Harris. He married Barbara Jean Holmes on April 15, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Graduated from Ogden High, Weber State College and earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from BYU. He served as president of the LDS Institute while attending Weber State College. He has served in many leadership positions such as bishop and bishop's counselor in various wards. For 18 years, he served in the stake presidency of the Murray West Stake as first counselor, and later as stake president.

He served for 12 years as a member of the Murray Board of Education. He was a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years; children, Julie Fredrickson (Lynn), Colorado Springs, Colo.; Lisa Cornia (Keith), Bluffdale; Allyson Miller (Ted), Logan, Bradford T. (Liz), Las Vegas, Nevada; Natalie Harris, Murray; 14 dearly loved grandchildren; three brothers and five sisters, Russell C., Salt Lake; Everal Cheney, La Mesa, Calif.; Marilyn Westman, Ogden; Peggy Williams, San Jose, Calif.; James M., Provo; Boyce R., Issaquah, Wash.; Sharon Best, Ogden; Sonia Baczuk, Federal Way, Washington. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Adele Harris.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 1993 at 12 noon at the Murray 23rd Ward, 755 East Three Fountains Drive. Friends may call Tuesday, March 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
