The Smithsonian's National Postal Museum, to open in July in Washington, has asked for the postal uniform - complete with white socks - worn by John Ratzenberger's Cliff Clavin character on the soon-to-end "Cheers" television comedy. A spokeswoman for the Smithsonian Institution, which already has Fonzie's leather jacket, Archie Bunker's chair, and the whiskey still from "MASH," says it is also trying to get the "Cheers" sign for its Museum of American History. The producers say they will decide what to do with such props this spring.
