Do you know someone who goes the extra mile for children? Here's your chance to help honor that individual.
The Utah County Child Abuse Council is searching for candidates for its "Child Advocate of the Year" award. Individuals, businesses, and organizations are invited to nominate someone who has contributed to the quality of life for the children of the community.Nominees may be serving children in either a professional or volunteer capacity - such as a doctor, teacher, youth leader, social worker, police officer or youth volunteer.
Nominations may be made by submitting a one- or two-page letter detailing the following: How has the nominee gone the extra mile as an advocate for children/adolescents? In what ways has the nominee gained respect in working to serve children? How has the nominee positively influenced children/adolescents? In what way has the nominee sacrificed personal resources to benefit children/adolescents? How does the nominee demonstrate a genuine love and caring for children/adolescents? Also, briefly explain any additional information that demonstrates why the nominee deserves the award.
Nominations should be submitted, identifying both the nominee and the nominator with addresses and telephone numbers, to "Advocate," Utah County Child Abuse council, P.O. Box 2114, Provo, UT 84603. The final deadline for submitting forms is April 1.
