Martha LaVerna Funk Wall, age 76, died March 28, 1993 after a courageous struggle with emphysema.
She was born July 26, 1916 in Ferron, Utah, a daughter of George Byron and Mary Abigail Olsen Funk. Married Morris Alva Wall April 23, 1934 in Castle Dale, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. LaVerna and Morris owned and operated Wasatch Furnace in Price, Utah from 1948-68. They were dance enthusiasts and made many life-long friends. She was a clerk at the Bull Frog Marina, Lake Powell. Her home was always open for people in time of need. Owned a cabin at Scofield where they, their family, and friends enjoyed boating and other outdoor activities.Active member of the LDS Church and held various positions throughout her life. Involved in BPW women's club.
Survived by three sons and one daughter: Melvin N., California; LaJuana W. Ockey, Murray; Dennis M., Washington; Rolland C., West Jordan; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Foster Lyndon, Clyne, and Don Funk; sister, Geneal Mortensen. Preceded in death by brothers Aerial, DeLoyd, Clarence, and baby Gerald; sisters, Zera Utegg and Naomia Edwards.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, 12 noon at the Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
