The Business/Education Partnership Committee of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will host a medical career day at Glendale Intermediate School at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 5.
It is a joint effort of the school, the chamber and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah to give the students a look into the real world of work in the medical industry. School officials want the students introduced to a variety of jobs in the medical field beyond doctors and nurses.That means there will be talks by physical therapists, a pharmacist, a dietician, a magnetic resonance imaging technician, a medical reporter, a hospital operation employee and a hospital office manager in addition to the traditional doctors and nurses. About 300 students and 30 business volunteers will participate in the program.
