Recently, I attended a patriotic musical production by the five fourth-grade classes from Crescent Elementary School in Sandy. The quality of this production was amazing. More than 100 students participated in this musical.
Thanks must go to the five fourth-grade teachers Sharon Carrier, Bonnie Dixon, Mary Jo Duncombe, Sandra Lloyd and Beverly Richards for the long hours spent in preparing these children. Also, appreciation should be given to their director, Maxine Summers, and accompanists Becky Overacker and Kirsten Peay. Likewise, the artistic designers Debbie Moon, Linda Dumas, Marilyn Clawson and Kay Despain should be noted. From my observation, this was an example of the quality education our children are receiving in our public schools. There may be mediocrity in some areas, but I haven't seen it.
