Police have arrested two 19-year-old Orem men in connection with two break-ins at the University Mall ZCMI store.

About 1 a.m. Monday the store's silent alarm was tripped as burglars entered the store, Orem Police spokesman Gerald Nielsen said. Orem officers responding found the outside doors pried open.Utah County sheriff's canine crews located the two men, who were arrested.

Police later obtained a search warrant for the suspects' apartment and found goods taken from the ZCMI store in a burglary last month, including several leather coats and jackets, police said. During that search, officers also found the two men had taken a roommate's vehicle without his permission and used it for transportation, police said.

In the February theft, burglars apparently hid in the store overnight and took more than $3,000 in merchandise, breaking open a pair of outer doors, Nielsen said.
