Noall Stevan Tanner, 58, died Tuesday, May 4, 1993 at his ranch in Wyoming.
He was born September 21, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, to Noall Z. and Helene Adams Tanner. He grew up in Layton, graduating from Davis High School. He received his BS degree in Pharmacy in 1956, and a PhD in Pharmacy in 1961 from the University of Utah, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.He married Marilyn Holt in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 2, 1955. they resided in Bountiful for five years. They moved to Indianapolis with their two sons, where he taught at Butler University for four years. Steve taught pharmacy at North Dakota State University for four years. Steve taught pharmacy at North Dakota State University in Fargo, where they resided for 22 years. He has lived in Utah for the last four years, most recently working as a pharmacist at Shopko in Layton.
Steve was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association as well as the North Dakota and Utah associations. He was the National Rifle Association Jr. Champion at 16.
Steve was a member of the NDSU Faculty Senate, and was active in the National intercollegiate Rodeo Association for 11 years, being president in 1981 to 1983. He was chairman of Rivertree Park Development Board, as well as president of Hardwood Development Association and Water Master. He was a member of Blue Key. He was a member of the LDS Church and over the years held many positions including president of the Sunday School and Stake Board member. Steve was on the Northern Lights Council of the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years. Where ever he was, he was involved with the people in his community.
Steve's greatest love was his family, and his second was ranching and horses. He was where he most loved to be at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; two sons, Steven Edward and his wife Deb, Fargo, N.D.; Sanford Noall of Layton; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Marie, Fargo, N.D. He is also survived by two sisters, Sheral (Richard) Heninger, and Noleen (Bob) Bennett, both of Layton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 1993, 11 a.m., at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 North Fairfield Road, where family and friends may call Sunday evening May 9, from 6-7:30 p.m. and on Monday, one hour prior to services. Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
