With radios dating back to 1898, the collection in the KBYU-FM lobby at the Harris Fine Arts Center qualifies as one-of-a-kind.
A selection of "cathedral" style, antique radios from Brigham Young University's Bonneville/P.R. McIntire/KSL Antique Radio Collection is on display in the KBYU-FM lobby at C-302 Harris Fine Arts Center, Provo. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
The one-of-a-kind collection was donated to BYU by KSL and Bonneville in 1991. KSL acquired it from Salt Lake City's McIntire in 1983. The oldest radio is from 1898.

- CHARLES OSGOOD COMING TO TOWN - Osgood, one of radio's most-listened-to voices on the CBS Radio Network, will visit Salt Lake City on Wednesday, May 12, for a noon luncheon in the Marriott Hotel.
His visit, the second in as many years, is sponsored by the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Salt Lake City. Tickets for the luncheon are $13 per person, and an RSVP is required by May 10.
- KSFI (alias "FM-100") is new media sponsor for the Salt Lake Classic and Sports Festival, May 28-29.
Besides the featured 10K race on May 29, there will be a free concert by Kim Carnes at Liberty Park, as well as many sports-related events like baseball throw-speed testing, golf swing analyses, booths, climbing areas and scuba diving.
KSFI spokesman Ken Bell said last year's event attracted 10,000-15,000 people without a big free concert, so he expects as many as 10,000 more participants this year, including up to 4,000 runners.
Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake.
- KBYU (FM-89.1) - The station has produced three King's Singers' programs, it will air as part of "A King's Singers Festival" in celebration of the group's 25 years of music.

- MORNING RADIO HAPPENINGS - "Fisher and Todd" on KISN-FM helped an orphan find her grandmother recently. A family reunion last weekend changed the woman's life forever. On Tuesday morning, the station took listener calls on what mean things they did in school, like spraying a fire extinguisher on the class, supergluing chairs to the floor, turning all the desks around before the teacher came into the room, etc. . . . "Dom and Bill" on KXRK got another "Jon and Dan" update/review from "Gumby" Tuesday. They refer to that show as the "Dawn Patrol on Z-98" . . . On the real "Jon and Dan" show Tuesday on KLZX, Phil Boyer from Ogden was the ninth caller and got to be the guest announcer for the day's "Z-Car" takeoffs. . . .
"Mary" won $102 Tuesday on KKAT's free birthday money contest with "Cano and Simmons" . . . "Ron and Allen" on KBER have been discussing promoting "five-on-five racquetball" as a summer Olympics sport, and you have to do a double take on some of the station's commercials. For example, "It's not mayonnaise" was a special spoof commercial thrown in earlier this week between two real commercials . . . "Gary and Mick" on KVRI produced a special song this week to honor mothers. . . .
Tom won Tuesday's "Where's Wally?" contest on the "McCormick and Scotty" show on KUTQ with a guess he was on the Sixth South offramp . . . "Hotel California" was a special million-dollar contest qualifying song Tuesday between 7-8 on the "Frank and Stone" show on KRSP . . . It was a rare occurrence Tuesday just after 7 a.m., when apparently every single FM station from 93.3 to 103.5 was playing music for at least a few seconds until commercials or deejays came on.
