The Chicano Studies Program at the University of Utah will present a "Noche Cultural Latina" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. This visual and performing arts exhibition will be held at Tivoli Gallery, 255 S. State St.
The visual art exhibition will feature mixed media on wood by Hector Ahumada; Chinese watercolor by Erika Herrera Mixco and Joaquin Mixco; and painting/sculpture by Michael Trujillo. The exhibit will remain through May 18.The performing arts segment will feature Adrianna and Hugo Aragon, natives of Argentina who are international competition winners in the tango; Magdalena Charvira (guitar and vocals); Ricardio Merino (percussion); Albaro Moncada (guitar and vocals); Eddie Martinez (modern dance, in which he interprets the stuggles of the Latin American people); and Grupo Naira (Andean band). Also the Club de Mujeres Latinas will parade in their Latin American and Spanish costumes.
