While many of the high school baseball diamonds were still drying out after a week filled with rain, Viewmont High was able to get a game in against Northridge Friday afternoon. The Vikings made the most of it for a 11-1 victory.
Viewmont, which improved to 10-3 in the region, plays Davis today in Kaysville in a game that will decide the league champion.
Friday against the Knights, John Mortensen and Eric Bowles drove in two runs each to lead the Vikes. Shay Cook pitched a two-hitter, striking out 11 in the process. Cook helped his own cause with a triple.

West 10, Bountiful 1
At Bountiful, the Panthers were led by Ben Byrd, who pitched a two-hitter. Byrd was helped out by Troy Thomas and Jeff Holtry, who drove in three runs apiece. West's Chris Stepan added two doubles.
Delta 4, South Sevier 3
At Delta, the Rabbits scored all four runs in the first inning and then held off South Sevier to earn the victory. Doug Peterson had a two-run single for Delta, which improved to 6-2 in region play.
