Beginning this summer, students planning to attend Ricks College must pay a $60 tuition prepayment before they are able to register for classes, college officials announced.
In the past, said Lee Workman, director of accounting, students could register before paying the $60, which was due the end of July for the fall semester. However, for fall semester 1992, there were 562 students who didn't meet the deadline and were taking spaces in classrooms. Many of these students registered thinking they might be back to school that fall, but never showed up. "We need a commitment out of them," Brother Workman said.Current students attending winter semester can still register for fall semester until May 31 without paying their $60 deposit. But if it is not paid by May 31 their classes will be canceled.
