WE SHOULD CARE ABOUT ALL MIAS

SHARE WE SHOULD CARE ABOUT ALL MIAS

Having completed another Memorial Day and having read and heard again about the MIA/POW problem - still unresolved nearly 25 years after the end of the Vietnam War - I feel it's time to place that war and those MIAs in proper perspective.

I share the deep concern of others for the fact that so many MIAs are still unaccounted for (somewhere between 2,000 and 2,200, according to the numbers I have seen). The thing I do not understand is why the entire country (including all the media) is up in arms about the Vietnam MIAs while nothing is being said or reported concerning the more than 8,000 MIAs from the Korean War, which ended 40 years ago.

It's time that every veteran - from every war - demanded that his/her representatives and senators make the MIA issue one of their top priorities and that they include the MIAs from all wars.
