Fashion designer Calvin Klein is out of debt and ready to open his first retail stores and enter the world of television home shopping.

"This has been a terrific deal for everyone involved," Klein said, referring to the $44 million his friend, Hollywood mogul David Geffen, put into the business last year when Klein's indebteness to junk bond speculator Leon Black threatened Klein's control of his empire.
