ARIEL, THE LITTLE MERMAID

Formats: Sega Genesis 16-Bit System.Price, manufacturer: $59.95, Sega.

Recommended ages: 7 and up.

How the game works: This game, based on the hit Disney film "The Little Mermaid," gives the player a choice of becoming either Ariel or her father, King Triton, to battle the evil Ursula's curse and save the kidnapped merpeople. Along the way, you must travel through four levels of underwater adventure among coral reefs, volcanic mounds, sunken galleons and a murky maze of caves.

Good points, bad points: Contains excellent animation and music, including the Oscar-winning hit "Under The Sea." Hints: As you go along, press the "start" button and you'll see a map locating all merpeople you need to save. And beware of sharks! (To kill them, use Triton's pitchfork to hurl fireballs and lightning bolts.) Finally, remember that Ariel's voice can overcome evil spells that imprison the merpeople and other undersea creatures.

The Verdict: As Sebastian would say, "So, mon, go under the sea and have some fun."
