Bessie Powell Nelson Curtis, 81, of Aurora, Utah, died June 24, 1993 in Provo.
She was born January 30, 1912 in Glenwood, Utah to George Edward and Georgia Tuttle Powell. She married Charles Tilman Nelson, June 4, 1930. They were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple June 4, 1937. He died December 13, 1939. She married Joseph Wilmer Curtis, December 28, 1944. He died June 22, 1978. She was a member of the LDS Church. She served a stake mission. She was employed by the Manti Parachute Factory during World War II. She served Sevier County for 28 years in positions of Deputy County Recorder and County Recorder.Her children are: Gae and Dale Mangrum, West Jordan; Colleen and Don Nielsen, Gunnison; Ivo Curtis, Aurora; Marilyn and Terry Williams, Salt Lake City; (Nadine Nelson Jorgensen Shaw, deceased); 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Fullenbach, Richfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter; one brother and two sisters, Edward Powell, Lorna Ogden, Lottie Washburn.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 1993 at 1 p.m., in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary in Richfield, on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Aurora on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be held in the Redmond Cemetery.
