The Utah Medicaid program will increase payments to some health-care providers Thursday. The increases were funded by the last legislative session.

Hospital reimbursements for Medicaid patients will increase 6.5 percent. Nursing home reimbursement will increase by 4.8 percent. Home health agencies will receive about 7 percent increases for skilled nursing visits."These reimbursement improvements will help ensure that Medicaid recipients have access to needed medical services," said Rod Betit, director of the Utah Health Department. "We hope we can offer reimbursement increases to physicians next year, since funding was not approved for them this year."
