Would you like to hear folk, pop and country music with a decided bluegrass twist? Tune into Bluegrass Conspiracy on Saturday, June 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Social Work Auditorium on the University of Utah campus for Utah's premier bluegrass band in concert.

Members of the group are Mark Anger, banjo; Dave Hunt, guitar and fiddle; Ron Spears, mandolin and guitar; and Bangs Tapscott, string bass. Hunt, the newest member of the band, won the Utah State flatpicking contest and took second place in fiddle in 1989. All four musicians take a turn at lead singing, and Bluegrass Conspiracy is becoming reknowned for tight, four-part harmonies. The band toured Canada and the Pacific Northwest in 1991 and was the headliner band at the Shuswap Lake Bluegrass Festival in Celista, B.C., in 1992.

Bluegrass Conspiracy recordings are "Makin' Bluegrass" and the upcoming cassette release "Mountain Daylight Time."

Tickets for the concert are $8 in advance ($9 day of show), with discounts for Intermountain Acoustic Music Association members, U. students and seniors. They are available at Acoustic Music, Compact Discounter, Intermountain Guitar & Banjo, Local Music, Smokey's Records, all SoundOff locations and from members of the IAMA.
