Daniel Riter Garn, age 69, aviator, husband, father and friend, died June 5, 1993 in flight, his lifelong passion.

He was a World War II aviator and instructor and flew his entire adult life.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Katherine Isbell Garn, originally of Sheffield, Alabama; and his daughter, Katherine Roulhac Garn, San Francisco; he also leaves his brother, Phil R. Garn, San Diego; and his sister, Marilyn Garn Stephenson; a niece and two nephews.

Mr. Garn, the son of Phil R. and Mae Riter Garn, was the co-owner of General Office Supply Company in Salt Lake City before he retired to pursue building and flying airplanes, fishing and golf.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 11, 1993 at 12 noon at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 So. and Foothill Blvd. In lieu of flowers, any remembrances may be made to Dan's charity, St. Vincent DePaul Center, 437 West 2nd So. SLC, Utah 84101. Funeral Directors: Evans and Early Mortuary.
