Roy D. Wasmer, Sr., 81, of Salt Lake City died July 9, 1993.
He was born October 23, 1911 in Green, Kansas, the son of John F. and Grace A. Kilian Wasmer. Married Rose Renne September 3, 1934.Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the city circulation manager for the Kansas City Star. Member and past commander of the Irwin Kirkwood American Legion Post in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.
Survived by his wife, Rose, of Salt Lake City; sons, Roy D. (Amy) Wasmer, Jr. of Denver, Colo.; Robert J. (Marlene) Wasmer of Ft. Collins, Colo.; daughters, Rita (Bob) VanRyckeghem and Janice (Mike) Rowland, both of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Virgil Rice and Frances Bowlin, both of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons.
