SHARE MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR GRACE MCGRATH IS SATURDAY

Friends and acquaintances of the late Grace Lynne Coppin McGrath, who died on April 7, are invited to attend a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 17. The service will be held in the Babcock Theatre, located downstairs in the Pioneer Memorial Theatre building on the University of Utah campus, 300 S. 1340 East.

Pioneer Memorial Theatre was also the setting for one of McGrath's local performances. In February 1966 she appeared in a production of "Oedipus Rex" starring Jose Ferrer and directed by her husband, Byron McGrath. At that time, she was using her stage name of Grace Coppin.She performed in more than 30 productions on Broadway, had roles in eight movies and dozens of radio soap operas. She had worked with such other notable performers as Orson Welles, Montgomery Clift, Alfred Lunt, Lynn Fontanne, Judith Anderson and Maurice Evans.
