A suspected bank robber who feared police would recognize his distinctive clothes was arrested Wednesday as he ran naked down a South Los Angeles alley.

Several deputy sheriffs spotted the naked man and chased him down the alley and over several fences before grabbing him and the $15,000 he was carrying in two shopping bags.Officers identified the man as Travion Davis, 19, and said he is a suspected gang member.

Sgt. Barry Wulwick said Davis apparently feared deputies would spot him because of his distinctive clothing and disrobed.

"Before he could find some other clothes to wear, we found him along with the money," Wulwick said.

Police refused to say what Davis was wearing at the time of the robbery.
