Ted Kennedy can breathe easier when he watches the "Tonight Show" these days. Jay Leno has put a moratorium on jokes about him.

The Massachusetts senator's weight battles and his reputation for partying have long made him a target for late-night comedians. But now, with Kennedy saying he's changed his ways, Leno said it's time to give him a break."Every week, reams of Ted Kennedy jokes come in," he said in an interview in Parade magazine. "But you say to yourself, `The guy's been married a year, he gave that speech about turning his life around, it's not fair to pick on him right now.' "
