At its meeting Tuesday, July 13, the City Council:

- Adopted a formal succession of authority in the event of emergency or incapacitation to the mayor. Should the mayor become unable to serve, the City Council chairman would become the city's chief executive officer, and in the event of emergency while the mayor is out of town, the city's chief administrative officer would take over as mayor. In his absence, the city attorney would be the city's executive leader.

Murray

At its meeting Tuesday, July 13, the City Council:

- Approved two zone changes from agricultural to residential for two nearly adjacent small parcels of land at 6066 S. 700 West and 6020 S. 700 West. Both plots are surrounded by residential development.

- Approved a zone change at 560 E. 5600 South from agricultural to residential.

- Confirmed the appointment of Grant Dalton to the Murray Library Board for a three-year term.

- Declined a proposal that would have allowed homeowners to display small signs advertising businesses on their property.
