Beth Nilsson-Belt, former director of corporate group sales for Little America Hotel, has been hired by the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau to attract smaller meeting business while the Salt Lake Palace and Convention Center is being expanded.

She joins Diane Utley in that effort, according to Rick Davis, bureau president and chief executive officer.Davis said construction in 1994-95 will limit the ability to host large conventions, so increasing smaller meeting business is a must to sustain the local economy and the hotel industry.

Nilsson-Belt has 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She has been director of client relations at Morris Air Service, where she originated and administered the business class program. Nilsson-Belt also has been manager of customer service for Morris/Ask Mr. Foster Travel.
