I would like to make a statement about the refusing to give tenure to two professors at BYU.
I feel a need to express my opinion as a person who did not attend BYU or any university. I do not know about the process used in this type of decision. I am, however, a financial supporter of BYU in tithes and donations.I understand that BYU was founded to enhance the doctrines of the LDS Church, to provide education and knowledge as given to us by prophets and apostles. If BYU fails to follow this course, then as a church or members, we could not support this institution.
Those who cannot support the full intent of this private school, either students or faculty, have the freedom of choice to teach or learn at public institutions.
