Eva Jane Lewis Bowers, 90, of Salt Lake City, died 15 July 1993 from causes incident to age.

Eva was born 19 November 1902 in Bench Creek, Wasatch County, Utah, a daughter of James Lewis, Jr., and Lovina Helen Lefler Lewis. She spent her early childhood in Woodland. The family then moved to Francis where she completed her elementary schooling. The family then moved to Kamas where she attended South Summit High School. She worked for John Hoyt at his store, where she met Wreno Bowers. They were married 3 October 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1973. Wreno passed away 10 July 1974.She had been active as a Primary teacher and in the Relief Society. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, handicrafts and homemaking. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. They lived in Provo for many years. In 1960 they made their home in Salt Lake City.

Survivors include: Three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Don A. (Norma) Wright, Salt Lake City; Mrs. A. Kay (Lois) Sproul, Tustin, Calif.; Howard L. Bowers, Provo; Mrs. Ron (Nada) Bailie, Seattle, Wash.; and Richard L. Bowers, Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, at the Union Fort 4th Ward Chapel, 1050 East Chapel Hill Drive (7410 So.) Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, SLC., and and one hour prior to the service at the Union Fort chapel. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East.
