A 14-year-old boy from Elberta, Utah County, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday at Primary Children's Medical Center from injuries suffered in a collision Monday night between a car and a go-cart in southern Utah County.

Brian Richard Johns suffered multiple head trauma and internal injuries.Utah County sheriff's Lt. Ron Fernstedt said Johns and Jamie Fimbres, 14, also of Elberta, were riding a go-cart south along 12100 West at about 8:20 p.m. Monday when they drove into an intersection at 17600 South and collided with a westbound car driven by Lydia Cerreno, 34, Elberta. According to an accident report, Cerreno was traveling about 35 mph and was unaware of the go-cart until she felt the impact. The report did not say which youth was driving the go-cart.

Johns was transported to Mountain View Hospital in Payson and then transferred by helicopter to Primary Children's. Fimbres was treated at Mountain View and released.
